Floppy Diskette Seek Failure

I have the following problem on a Dell Dimension E520 running Vista. When booting a black screen appears with the following:

Floppy Diskette Seek Failure
F1 to continue F2 run setup

When i press F1 the PC continues to boot and all is ok. I do have a floppy installed.

Any suggestions ??

Re: Floppy Diskette Seek Failure

Hi,
Is the floppy drive working correctly?
If the floppy is working correctly in Vista then go to your BIOS and set the floppy to boot after the CD-Rom and Harddrive:
Boot order:
CD-Rom
Harddrive
Floppy
This should remove the error during the boot process.

Re: Floppy Diskette Seek Failure

If the floppy doesn't work, try flipping over the ribbon cable. So easy to get those on upside down. (that is if you have had the cable off, otherwise, disregard)
