[SOLVED] windows media player 11

windows media player 11 closed unexpectedly. Requested I send error report. Message said to update SIS 650. Went to the site, used their online identification utility.Downloaded drivers and installed them.Sound on playback of DVDs remained distorted, tried to reinstall SIS 7012 audio controller. Recieved a box with a big red cross plus -536870397. Installshield said it had to abort the installation. How do I fix the sound on my DVDs and install correct driver?

windows xp service pack 3

Re: windows media player 11

Did you uninstall the old sis7012 driver before installing the new one via Add/Remove Programs and the Device Manager? If not please do so and reboot the PC.
Extract the new driver to a folder and do a manual install of the new driver through the Device Manager.
