Confused [SOLVED] Help find Sony Vaio Video driver upgrade

Hi thanks for any help. I am a newbie here. I have a Sony Vaio PCVRS 430G. The video card driver is from 2003 and does not run my games very well. Pixilated screen etc... I viewed the Sony website and there is no current upgrade. I talked to their customer support, who after 20 minutes told me he couldn't find an upgrade on their site. No duh. I am operating on just basic computer knowledge here, so if you can offer help you need to be specific and I apologize for possibly using terms incorrectly.

Several years ago I added another hard drive to this computer for more space, but I do not think that should make a difference in upgrading the video capabilities. The game website I used diagnosed the issue and said I needed the upgrade to video driver (that is how I came to this conclusion). So any help you techno peeps (and I use the term with a smile) can give me will be appreciated. Thanks, Sharon

Re: Help find Sony Vaio Video driver upgrade

Hi,
Here is your spec sheet:
http://www.docs.sony.com/release/spe...S430G_mksp.pdf

According to the specs you have this card:
Quote:
VIDEO & GRAPHICS
ATI Radeon™ 9200
128MB Video Memory (128-bit DDR)
VGA-out / DVI-Out (DVI output:1280x1024x60Hz max.)
/ TV-Out
Set a restore point before installing the driver.
Try this driver from ATI:
http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/x...rer300-xp.html
Hope this helps.
Bill
