Well i just upgraded my 2nd computer to Vista Ulitmate 32bit but i cant get the sound drivers to work becuase they only install on xp or below, im just using a on board sound card....

the mother board im using is a gigabyte GA-8I915P Dual Graphic

as you can see there drivers arnt upto date and im in need of help, can some one please point me in the right direction!

Set a restore point.
Try these drivers:
MS UAA driver (Vista):

Must be installed before the Audio Driver

Audio Driver:
http://www.windows-vista-update.com/...ows-Vista.html
Use the C-Media High Definition Audio Device.

welll, im doing what you said no, that first link didnt work but i found another one with the same file , its going 8kb a sec :( only 40 mins left haha but thanks ill post up to tell you if it worked, cheers

What are the errors you have in the device manager?

High Definition Audio device,

for the things you said it did install, but no sound was working at all, everything was up high checked all settings but still had no luck with it

Right click on the error and go to properties. A window will open.
What is the error code you have.
Also, while in that window go to the Details Tab.
Give me the DEV/VEN number under the Device Instance ID.

hey mate thanks for your help here is the error code

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

and i couldnt find the device instance ID. but i found Devince Instance path i dont know if they are the same thing but here it is anyway

What is the ver. # of you BIOS?

Hey mate, Na i havnt updated bios for ages, cnt even remember when the last time was porb about 3 years ago haha or more,

would i just get it from here, and would it be all of them or just a few

The Bios should be updated to the newest version only (Not All), but I found this link that may help you resolve the sound issue:
