HP Scanjet 3400c scanner- no driver?

Hello,
This past Spring my father rebuilt my computer because the HD had failed. He put in a new HD and installed XP Pro, and also put in a new CPU, the Pentium D, 2.8.

After we got the computer all together and running I tried setting up my scanner, but I was never able to get the computer to "see" it.

Before the upgrade the computer had a 566 Pentium 4, and Windows 98 SE. When I bought the scanner back then I went through the installation and setup processes with no problem. But now with the computer in its new form, I cannot use my scanner. I tried downloading upgraded drivers and so forth, but with no results. According to what I've heard, there are drivers that will make this scanner work with this computer, but I have not had any success. Please help.

Did you download the drivers for the scanner here?:

If it is USB, be sure to install the drivers before connecting the scanner to the usb port
