Suprised [SOLVED] Driver Problems

Hello, the reason that I write this is that I have problems with my computer since I downgraded my Windows Vista Home Premium 32 to Windows XP Proffesional 32 with service pack 3.

Every time i try to play a game, my computer monitor is going to "Sleep Mode". When this happens i need to restart my computer serveral times to get it started again.

I've tryed to install drivers for my computer, but without luck.
But i still think that there is some drivers missing, because in "Device Manager" there are some yellow "question marks", but i dont know what is missing.

Here is a pic of my Device Manager:

Anyone got any ideas? Regards Zapman

*Sorry for my bad English*

Re: Driver Problems

Hi,
The language barrier may be tough.
It appears you need to install the Chipset Driver.
Try this one:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_winxp_15.24.html

Try to run the setup program.
If this fails try to install the drivers manually.
Hope this helps,
Bill

Hello BCCOMP! Thanks for taking your time to help me!

I installed the chipset driver you provided and the "yellow question marks" disappeared from the device manager!

I will try to play my games and let you know how it worked!

Re: Driver Problems

Hi,
I am glad you have the errors gone!
Is it still shutting down the same way as in your first post?
Are you getting any ERROR Codes (a BSOD)?
Have you checked your display properties?
Have you modified this computer in any way (added memory etc.)
Does it happen with a certain game or any game?
Does it happen when you are not playing games?
Bill

Hello again,

I decided to try reinstall Windows Vista again. I installed the chipset and grafic card drivers. And now it seems to work fine.

And yes, i've added memory to my computer. Got 4GB DDR2 now, standard was 1 GB DDR2.

But it seems to work just fine now, hope it will keep on running!

But if the monitor will shut down again, might it be my added memory?
Maybe i need to add a new Power Supply with more power?

Thanks for your help, mutch appreciated!

Regards Zapman

Re: Driver Problems

Hi,
Do you have any other errors in the device manager?
Did you have this problem with Vista before you installed XP?
The added memory may have resolved your issue seeing Vista needs atleast 2GB to run decent.

The GeForce 7500LE is a promblematic card especially for gamming. You might want to consider the 8800GT (or similar). If you upgrade the graphics card you should also upgrade the PSU.
