Hi, first post here. Got my laptop about 2months ago a HP Pavilion dv9700 I went from Vista back to XP today just feeling more comfortable with it, and wanting it for when I am gaming seeing how my laptop only has 2gb of ram figured it would be better than trying to run vista on it while playing games because of the processes. Anyways the drivers were complicated some of them were very hard to get a hold of but I did manage to get everything working but my audio if I am not mistaken it should be Realtek HD Audio tried quite a few different drivers nothing really working for me. When trying to reach volume control through the entertainment menu I get the error "There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panel, Click printers and other hardware, and then click add new hard ware. This program will now close." and when I look under device manager I see under the sound and game portion Realtek High Definition Audio when I look at its properties it says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" under the device status. Any ways could use some help here, and thanks in advance.

Re: Help With Sound Drivers
HI,
Are you sure you have Realtek Audio? Did you install the chipset driver first and have XP SP2 on this system? Did you install the UAA driver first? Uninstall any driver (Audio) you tried to install and reboot. Install this driver first and reboot: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...s&lc=en&dlc=en Then install this driver and reboot: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g..._I23778-109040 Let me know how you make out. Re: Help With Sound Drivers
I am not quite sure if its Realtek I know its not good but I did forget to check before I downgraded.
I am actually on sp3. I did install my chipset driver. I did try UAA first with some of the drivers that I tried. When I try to uninstall Realtek Audio from device manager I get a error saying it can not uninstall it because it is used to boot. Last edited by noxos; 10-16-2008 at 08:14 AM. |

Re: Help With Sound Drivers
Well this is quite weird just tried installing the two drivers you gave me to install. Installed UAA and then rebooted tried installing the audio driver next and I got the error "Microsoft bus driver should be loaded in your system before installing Realtek HD Audio driver." Guess we are on the right track here then because this is the first time I recieved this error.
