I would have a dump file for you, but the one time I actually tried to produce the error, it failed to create a dump.

I hadn't been able to find my sound driver disk ever since I moved, so I had to download drivers from Creative's website. Only problem is, the drivers on their site don't have all the features that the ones from the disk have, so I still kept looking for my disk.

I found the disk the other day, tried to install it, and got this error. I'm not sure if I uninstalled the old drivers completely or not, cause they were kind of a mess.

I'm running winXP SP3.

Re: BSOD on installation of sound drivers

Ok, I figured out what the problem was. Apparently some recent Windows update conflicted with the old drivers that were on the disk. Installing newer drivers fixed the problem.

Sorry for the bother.
