Device driver problems
i had a bad virus and had to reinstall windows im new so explain in a way i can understand please, i can connect using my xp so im using my vista home premium computer i need to use my xp under device manager im missing: Other PCI Bridge device, pci simple communications controller, and Sm bus controller, on my xp im unable to get onto the internet i think this is the problem please inform me with downloads or advice i have a compaq presario windows media center version 2002 compaq computer sr2013wm please help :)

Note the File name so you know what driver is what. These are EXE. files so once you have them on CD, insert the CD into your XP machine and click on the appropriate file and install them in this order; Install the CHIPSET driver first. It is 4th on the list under Original Drivers Then install the LAN driver, 1st on the list under Original Drivers Video driver is the 5th on the list under Original Drivers. Sound is the 6th one on the list under Original Drivers. The modem and keyboard can now be installed. Be sure to save this CD for a Driver backup. Hope this helps. Bill |
