Major Problems With Sony Driver

Hello! I have a quite old driver, Sony DW-D22A, I've been using it for like four years. Yesterday the problems started. I tried to burn a CD and failed at it. I received a message from Nero, "power calibration error". Then I tried burning another CD. This time it stopped burning at 6%. Then, after few minutes of absolutely nothing, it jumped to 17% and continued burning. Nero said it was successeful but the computer couldn't read the CD. Today I wanted to install a dictionary. The driver didn't recognise a CD.

Right now I can't burn CD (didn't try DVDs yet) and it's not sure that the computer will read a CD. What's going on?

Re: Major Problems With Sony Driver

Hi,
Welcome to TSF.
You may need to clean your upper and lower filters. This is a guide to tell you how:

This guide may also be helpful (I would use this one seeing you have a DVD)

Thanks,
Bill
