Rome Total War Display driver problem

hey guys,

been playing rome total war on my laptop Toshiba Satellite m200 i think, anyways i start playing the game and when it gets into the movements of the battles, the screen goes black suddenly(but i can still hear all the normal sounds of the game in the background)...then slowly loads the screen up again...i end up playing for another 5 seconds and it fails again and restarting the process.

i end up closing the game completely and coming back to the desktop, where i little icon(a yellow triangle with a exclaimation point inside) has appeared in the bottom right corner(on the control panel) and it has a speech bubble saying that the display driver failed but has been successfully re-started.

any ideas on what would be going on here? i have been searching for Omega drivers for the game but no success. i have also tried to change the screen resolution but no success there either
