Re: need ethanet driver help
It will if the driver was already installed on the computer.
If that does not work, please supply the specs of your PC. Thanks, Bill |

Re: need ethanet driver help
hey thanks for the reply ive had the pc for about 2 year and dont have the sheet i got with the specs listed i know there is a way to bring them up just not sure how to do that. it used to work fine till one day it all went haywire and i had no choice but to reinstall the windows xp. when i done this i could not connect via the ethernet cable which worked befor. which i have recently learnt is the ethernet controller whats missing (shows yellow ? next to it on the device manager)
if this helps i have put an old netgear wireless adaptor in and installed correct driver/sotware and that connects to the home hub but will not recive packet although it sends them i am gratefull for your patients and time taken to help me. im about to throw the dam thing out thew window soon lol ps im on the downstairs pc which is wireless |

Re: need ethanet driver help
Can you tell us the make and model of the PC? If not run Everest (Below my signature). and post the results.
Do you want to hardwire the PC to the net or use the wireless card? Thanks, Bill |

Re: need ethanet driver help
Hi,
If you have an exact duplicate of this machine. Go to the device manager and under network controllers post what you see. Is this a Dell, Gateway, Hp (or similar) and if so post the model number. If this PC is a major manufacture there should be some kind of marking on it to tell us what it is. Thanks, Bill |

Re: need ethanet driver help
Hi,
Try this driver for your LAN: http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethe...ic/netlink.php You will have to download it off your working PC to CD or flash drive and extract the files. Then reinstall the driver through the device manager on the non-working PC directing it to where you have the driver. Thanks, Bill |

Re: need ethanet driver help
It could be the driver?
If your downstairs PC is exactly the same you may be able to tell me the details of that driver. Go to device manager>right click on the network controller>properties> driver tab What version do you have on that PC? Thanks, Bill |
