Possible registry issue with video drivers

Hello,
I'm running winXP sp3. geforce 5900xt pci-e. With geforce drivers 175.19.

My probelm is.. When i reboot, Windows doesn't load the drivers for my vid card. I get the default windows driver and resolution.
To fix, i have to go into device manager and "update driver" for my video adapter then browse to the nvidia folder find the inf. file.

I think my problem is related to this microsoft article http://support.microsoft.com/default.../314854/EN-US/

I tried following the instructions but they arent very clear to me.

In the reg key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\hardware\DeviceMap\Video
i do not have a Device\Video0 value as the article states that i should have.
I think my registry is not correctly pointing to my drivers.

I am not a registry expert and am a bit leery changing things.
I'm prepared to post part of my registry if needed.

If anyone has some ideas, I would greatly appreciate them.

Thanks

Re: Possible registry issue with video drivers

Have you tried letting Nvidia find the driver for you?
