I have a Compaq presario c700 notebook thats that I have had for about 9 months old and haven't had any previous problems with it. However a few days ago the every time i put in a disk to attempt to back up my computer (using norton 360) it was spat back out again. After restarting the computer it managed to work again but yesterday I was trying to backup again and it didn't allow me because the empty disk failed to be written on, after trying to format the disk my computer froze and wouldnt even let me eject my disk, hoping it would work I restarted my computer again only to have it not boot up. I tried to do a system recovery but I cant do anything and the disk won't come out of the drive no matter what I try. Any advice on what i should do? or should i send it away to get fixed?

Re: Disk Drive Problems
If the drive has a hole in the front panel , then by inserting a pin/paper clip into the hole it should open.
Why you would try to format a Cd/DVd disk has me scratching my head. Have you tried booting into Safe mode? On some laptops there is on the underside a RESET hole, again by inserting a pin? you should be able to boot. |
