Pavilion 512c Audio Drivers... random reboot
I'm working on a HP Pavilion 512c desktop, I installed a fresh copy of Windows XP Professional (not HP recovery) and having trouble finding a audio driver that will work. I checked HP Support website and the driver wasn't avaliable for download. I checked a few websites and finally found out it used a realtek AC'97 driver. The problem is when I execute the setup for the sound card it gets halfway through the install and randomly reboots. I go to the device manager and attempt to update the driver and it does the same... any ideas?

Re: Pavilion 512c Audio Drivers... random reboot
Uninstall any drivers/software loaded for it and any other audio application; uninstall it from Device Manager and reboot.
Disable any third-party apps & services and try installing the drivers again. Also check the Hardware ID for the card in Device Manager, just to ensure you're loading the correct drivers. Last edited by Houndog777; 09-01-2008 at 03:10 PM. |
