network adapter problems
Hi
I'm running Windows Xp My laptop was intermittently shutting down to a blue screen with "old school" computer script saying a recently downloaded program was causing problems with the operating system. The only program I had recently added was AVG version 8 free trial, so I did what the screen suggested and deleted the program. Now I cannot access the wireless connection in my house and when I go into Devic Manager, under network adapters, there are two applications with yellow asterix's beside them... "Microsoft TV/Video Connection - AVG miniport driver" "WAN Miniport (IP) - AVG miniport driver" I was advised to unistall these but when I try I get a pop up message saying I'm unable to do so as "the device may be used to boot your computer" Are these two rogue AVG leftovers?? casuing my problems? If so how do I fix them??? Thanks |

Re: network adapter problems
I can't say for sure this will fix your problem, but if you're sure deleting the devices will work, then you could try disabling them first (it may or may not ask you to reboot), then after reboot actually delete them?
(To disable, right click then choose disable) |
