Cry DVD-ROM choppy picture and sound

Hello,
I'm using Liteon LTD-163 DVD-ROM. It was working well, suddenly start working choppy video and sound.
I try Windows Media player, Cyber Power DVD, Nero players to play DVD.
all is same choppy video and sounds. kinda like fast forwarding.
I try to update driver, uninstall, and reinstall. still same problem.
please help me out.
thanks

Re: DVD-ROM choppy picture and sound

the dvd is not dead, it is just really dirty. mine did the same, and my comp. guy just cleaned them when he did a checkup on my computer.if you have an oiless air compressor with dessicant line dryer and can lower pressure to 35 to 40 psi, you can do it yourself.
