[SOLVED] Serious Driver issue

Hi,
I have recently had a serious problem with my dell xps notebook, m1330 operating on vista. My usb, dvd, cd, camera or any external devices will not work on my computer. When I plug in a usb for example it asks to format the usb even though the usb stick is fine and even if I try format it, it won't format. CD's etc are not recognised and cameras display the same message as my usb about formatting. The usb can work when the storage system is changed to nfts instead of (Fat32/Fat or something like that) for some reason but otherwise it just won't work. Im completely ignorant as to how drives operate but I have googled everything and I just don't understand what is wrong. I think the problem is related to changed values in my registry because it happened soon after my computer crashed (I think) and the computer went to a blue screen in some kind of recovery mode where a list of all these registry values and computer files flashed through the screen for about 20mins, the laptop booted up fine after this but I think the registry may have been altered as I had loads of errors in my startup after this, I fixed these errors using a program called regcure (this might have contributed to the drive problems but got rid of all the errors the appeared in my start up after the crash), from what i've read online it may be a Bios related issue either, again something I am completely unfamiliar with. Is this problem common or is there a solution. I have tried reinstalling all my usb drivers and have downloaded software to see if all my drivers are up to date (The drivers have no explanation marks beside them in device manager, I have reinstalled them on numerous occassions and any checks I have done has said they are all up to date). I think my warranty would cover the problem but Id rather be able to fix it myself through online support rather than send it away for a few weeks. I don't know if the following is related or not but my battery won't charge up either (I was using my computer on a low power voltage for a good part of the summer where my computer would plug in, work but wouldn't charge up, soon it shut down quite a bit unsafely because of the plug accidently falling out when the computer had no battery left, this may be related to my drives, I honestly do not have a clue at this stage) I can't reinstall vista because the cd drive won't work. Also, again im not too sure if this is related but I get an error in the start up regarding "bluetooth stack service" being unable to start. If anyone knows anything or any suggestions, hints or help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Damien

*If there is any additional details or system details that may be needed to identify my problem please tell me* Thanks.

Re: Serious Driver issue

Hi Waters
Does your XPS not come with a Recovery Partition?
Do you have the Manual/User Guide?
