Driver Check

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any driver updating programs or websites that I could use. I am trying to play a game and it says that I need to update the drivers on my video card. I have gone to Intel and Dell websites and cant seem to find the right ones. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Driver Check

Hi, sadly there are no drivers that can make a chipset or video card DX9 capable. It either is or it isn't and that's why graphics/video cards become outdated.
The latest cards are all DX10.

Your graphics are DX8 and below, so the only realistic way you will get to play DX9 games is to install a DX9 video card. Do you have an AGP or PCIe slot in your machine?

Re: Driver Check

If you download this free utility it will tell you everything you need to know about your system.......
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html

Once you've ran it, post back here with the name of the Manufacturer of your System and the Model number, or the name/number of your motherboard and we'll be able to guide you some more.

This is a desktop pc you have isn't it?

Re: Driver Check

You have onboard Graphics and the only expansion slots you have is 3x PCI slots, no agp or pcie slots.
You won't be able to improve the graphics on this Computer

Re: Driver Check

You could get a GeForce FX5xxx card which come in PCI and have DirectX-9 support.
Not expensive either.

You'll need to be careful your games don't also need Shader Model 3.0 though.
