Driver Check
I was just wondering if anyone knew of any driver updating programs or websites that I could use. I am trying to play a game and it says that I need to update the drivers on my video card. I have gone to Intel and Dell websites and cant seem to find the right ones. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Driver Check
Hi, sadly there are no drivers that can make a chipset or video card DX9 capable. It either is or it isn't and that's why graphics/video cards become outdated.
The latest cards are all DX10. http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/eg2/index.htm Your graphics are DX8 and below, so the only realistic way you will get to play DX9 games is to install a DX9 video card. Do you have an AGP or PCIe slot in your machine? |

Re: Driver Check
If you download this free utility it will tell you everything you need to know about your system.......
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html Once you've ran it, post back here with the name of the Manufacturer of your System and the Model number, or the name/number of your motherboard and we'll be able to guide you some more. This is a desktop pc you have isn't it? Last edited by Houndog777; 08-18-2008 at 08:59 PM. |

Re: Driver Check
You could get a GeForce FX5xxx card which come in PCI and have DirectX-9 support.
Not expensive either. http://cgi.ebay.com/New-nVidia-3D-Fu...QQcmdZViewItem You'll need to be careful your games don't also need Shader Model 3.0 though. |
