need help with something about nvlddmkm

hey i was in the hijackthis log help and got helped to get rid of some malwares and now i am having problems with driver nvlddmkm. i am now clear of all the malware thanks to chemist in the other part of the forums. Everytime i try to play freestyle street basketball game, it freezes and i press ALT + F4 to exit and it takes a while and once its exit out, it shows a sign on the bottom right of my screen. It's a yellow triangle with a exclamation point in it and it says "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered: Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" it does that every time. How do i fix this?

Re: need help with something about nvlddmkm

This refers to your nVidia driver. What we need to do is to uninstall all remaining versions of the nVidia drivers and install a clean version.

We need to reinstall the drivers in a certain way to prevent driver corruptions, and to do that i need to know your system specs. Download PC Wizard from my sig and install it. Run it and go to FILE, SAVE AS and click OK. Then copy that text into this thread.

At the same time download and install (but DONT run yet) Driver Cleaner from here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download...2171476965c5ed

Post back when you have Driver Cleaner installed and the PC Wizard report.

Re: need help with something about nvlddmkm

Ok, thank you for following instructions, its appreicated, but rarely done :)
  1. First of all we need to download a fresh version of your graphics driver. Unfortunately, nVidia doesn't release drivers for laptops, however LaptopVideo2Go do. The nice thing about nVidia drivers is that they are all the same (unified architecture), and the inf file determines the product installation routine. So, we can get the right driver and inf from here (but dont install it yet):

    Driver: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/nvidia...7773_vista.exe

    Inf file: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/infs/1...ta/nv_disp.inf

  2. Extract the driver to your desktop and replace the inf file in that driver extraction, with the one we downloaded serperately.
  3. Set a restore point.
  4. Download and run this: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/conf...Name=&lang=eng
  5. Restart.
  6. Uninstall the nVidia drivers from Add and Remove Programs.
  7. Restart and enter the bios. Make sure the onboard graphics is set to disable.
  8. Restart in Safe Mode (tap F8 on Restart).
  9. Run Driver Cleaner for nVidia drivers.
  10. Restart again in SAFE MODE.
  11. Install the downloaded nVidia driver (double click on the setup.exe file in the folder you downloaded nvidia driver to).
  12. Restart normally.
  13. Update DirectX here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
  14. Update Windows via Windows Update.
  15. Restart computer normally and post results.

i click on it a few times and all it says is: "How did you end up here?
Please go back and try again." and it has 2 links on the site:

Re: need help with something about nvlddmkm

You will need to start from 1 again, making sure you do all of this in order.
  1. Download the Driver from this page: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/vista/177.72 by clicking the link shown in red below:

    driver.jpg

  2. Download the Modified INF file from the same page, by clicking on the link in red shown below:

    moddefied INF.jpg

  3. Double click on the file named 17772.exe on your desktop.
  4. This will extract the drivers to a folder of your choosing, choose the desktop (create a new folder if necessary, call it whatever you want).
  5. Now, copy and paste the downoaded Modified INF file into this newly created folder - saying yes if windows asks if you want to replace the file.
  6. Set a restore point.
  7. Download and run this: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/conf...Name=&lang=eng
  8. Restart.
  9. Uninstall the nVidia drivers from Add and Remove Programs.
  10. Restart and enter the bios. Make sure the onboard graphics is set to disable. (Ususally by taping either the DEL key on start of the F2 key).
  11. Restart in Safe Mode (tap F8 on Restart).
  12. Run Driver Cleaner for nVidia drivers.
  13. Restart again in SAFE MODE.
  14. Install the downloaded nVidia driver (double click on the setup.exe file in the folder you downloaded the driver to in part 4).
  15. Restart normally.
  16. Update DirectX here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
  17. Update Windows via Windows Update.
  18. Restart computer normally and post results.

Re: need help with something about nvlddmkm

aye, ok i understand everything on all the step but i have tried everything for step 5. I created new folder and put the downloaded driver in it and try to paste the INF file in there but wont let me paste, so i drag it in the folder and it just makes another file under 17772. I tried to take the 17772 file out the folder and put it on the desktop but when i open it, there is a lot of stuff in it and still wont let me past but it lets me drag the INF file in there. And i dont know if that right or not so could you tell me what to do? Im sorry for the trouble. Thanks

Right click on the downloaded inf file and select copy. Then go to the 17772 folder and right click anywhere and select paste. Then select copy and replace.
