MY COPUTER IS PACKARD BELL
Window ME version we fix a modem card into the motherboard But, my computer can not detect it It can not find--"PCI communication device code 28 driver" problem in my window ME |

Look at the markings or labels on the modem, and with the model info in hand, search for an exact-match WinMe driver for it. Driversguide.com is a fairly well-regarded driver site, and registration is free.

Hi Drag,
Gary is right. In addtion: Windows will not identify most Win Modems until the maker's driver has been loaded. If you cannot identify the Modem then take the Name and Numbers off the main chip on the modem board. Go to that site and you should find the driver. Also as Gary says Driversguide.com may have it.
