COM2 Driver Help
I'm not sure if this is the right forum to be asking for help but here I go. I recently formatted my Fujitsu S 7110 Laptop. I installed a fresh copy of Windows XP (SP3) and loaded all it's drivers off the manufacturer's website. When I open Device Manager I see two yellow devices.
Infared Device: SMSC IrCC - Fast Infarred Port Location: Intel (R) 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC Interface The device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) Ports: Communications Port (COM2) Location: Unknown The device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think the COM2 device has something to do with Printers (correct me if I'm wrong) but I'm confused as to why it's saying it doesn't have enough resources. Re: COM2 Driver Help
Hi,
Recommended Solution from Microsoft: Two devices have been assigned the same I/O ports, the same interrupt, or the same Direct Memory Access channel (either by the BIOS, the operating system, or a combination of the two). This error message can also appear if the BIOS did not allocate enough resources to the device (for example, if a universal serial bus (USB) controller is not an interrupt from the BIOS because of a corrupted Multiprocessor System (MPS) table). You can use Device Manager to determine where the conflict is and disable the conflicting device. On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the Troubleshooting Wizard. |
