Hey,
I brought a E.S EI 204-UK computer just over a year and a half ago, i had a couple of drivers going here or there, ussually the sound drivers, but recently every single one seems to have 'gone.' And they keep 'going' It's like over the recent weeks my wirless keyboard (microsoft wireless laser keyboard 6000 v2.0) and when i type it doesn't pick up all the letters, so i'd write 'Hi, my name is Oli' and would get 'H my nme s ol' As you can imagine, it's really annoying. My mouse one broke a few weeks ago, and had the cursor flying around the screen! Not only that but ever since i got a family friend to take a look at the computer (As i thought with the mouse flying round the screen it was a virus etc) Anything that comes out of the back of the machine does not work. For example; Speakers, printer, webcam etc. So i have to have my keyboard and mouse sensor as well as my internet flash reciver thingy out of the front USB ports. Is this a problem with the actual computer? Help! ![]() As said, the computer is a; E.S EI 204-UK and i'm running XP. Thanks in advance ![]() |

Re: All Drivers Breaking At Differnt Times!
You mention that a friend found a virus on your computer, but not what steps he took to get rid of it. I've never had drivers "go" as you've described, and would not be surprised if you're still having malware issues. At the top right of your screen ( First Steps) is a link to steps to follow in order to get help with this sort of issue. Good luck.

Re: All Drivers Breaking At Differnt Times!
Hi,
Enter you BIOS Setup as soon as you pc starts. It tells you on-screen what key to press to "Enter Setup". Load the Default Settings and accept them, then make any obvious adjustments before you Save & Exit. e.g. Enable USB Support for keyboard & mouse. Now, when you load up XP, click on Start, then All Programs, then Accessories, then Command Prompt..........now type sfc/scannow and press Enter. This is the system file checker, which will verify your system files and replace any that are corrupt. You will probably need your XP disc to do this. Once completed, restart and visit Windows Update. Install all that you need. Next, reinstall any drivers you need to from your original set-up cd, or from your system makers or motherboard manufacturers website. Begin with the chipset driver.
