Firewire card problem

I have just installed firewire card.But the problem is that in device manager it shows a yelloow exclamation mark and under the Resources tab it say "This device is not using any resources because it has a problem".Please help me because as of now i can;t use the firewire card.The operating system i am using is Windows Xp Service Park 2.

Hi,
Uninstall any software you may have loaded for it, via Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
Next, right-click on it in Device Manager and select Uninstall. Restart and let windows reinstall the driver for it.
If windows does not have the drivers and you have an installation disc, then cancel windows searching for drivers upon restart and reinstall them yourself.
Restart and then install any software that came with it.

If this fails to resolve the problem, post back here with details of your motherboard and the card you are installing.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.The problem is that the firewire card did not come with drivers.The details for my PC are as follows:

OS : Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
Motherboard : ASUS P5VD2-MX/P5V-VM DH
Firewire Card : IEEE 1394 Host Controller

Hi,
Is this a PCI card with an IEEE 1394 Socket that you installed?
It's just that your motherboard already has Firewire; available from the I/O Ports at the rear of your PC.
