Won't play CD's

I am on this site here to try to fix my problem:

Now, I'm doing the Digital Speakers thing... and I get to the last step and it says "Enable Digital CD Audio For This CD-ROM Device", so I click on the box, and click OK.

But when I go back to it, its unchecked again...

What do I do?

Ohh, and I got an Inspiron E1705, Windows XP, and the driver is called _NEC DVD+-RW ND-6650A.

I hope you can help, and sorry to bother yall on something probably so trivial.
