My DVD/CD ROM drive is missing. I used it one day, and went to install a new program and it wouldn't work. So I went into the Device Manager, and it shows up, but when I open it the status says :
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.:" So when I check for solutions nothing happens. We don't have the instruction manual (we bought the computer from a rent to own place) and actually never recieved one. I've tried updating the driver thinking that would work, and it says that the best driver is installed. The driver that is, well used to be installed is: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA- T20N ATA Device HELP me please!!!
