a friend gave me their old Star Logic 19 in flat lcd monitor, but when I hooked it up, the screen came on beautifully, and after about 20 seconds it went black. I was told that maybe the driver needed updated, but I don't know where to find a driver as I can't find any info about the manufacturer! I have to use my original monitor , and it's a regular ole Dell, so updating it's drivers won't do any good! I'm lost!
Can anyone help me?

Re: need drivers for Star Logic flat lcd monitor
gddssdeena,
You can try updating the driver for this monitor - but based on your post, I'm thinking the monitor is bad. If it fails after 20 seconds - it sounds like there's an internal power-supply or other hardware problem with this display. If you have access to a different PC - try connecting this monitor to THAT PC and see if it behaves the same way. If it does - you need to toss that monitor. I've recently had a Dell 17" LCD display behave the same way and determined it was faulty after trying it on other PCs. StarLogic is a "no-name" brand made in China and sold at discount stores (Walmart). NOBODY on the Internet can identify the actual manufacturer of these products. That said - supporting these products is next to impossible as nobody has a website with support information and drivers available. If this montor was working and stopped working - try it on a different PC and see if it dies like it does on your PC. If it does - then toss it and purchase a "name brand" product that has a website and telephone number to call for support. - John |
