im trying to fix my friend's computer, its a computer built.
im trying to format it and install a windows xp with a xp bootable cd. when i was intalling the windows xp i noticed that it finish like 20min its suppose to be normally39min i noticed that the network is not installed. when its done im trying to open a internet explorer there's no connection theres no even local area connectin but i had a ethernet port on the board plus a pci slot ethernet card. i dont know seems to be the problem why the network is not installed. when i look at the device manager theres like 4 of it is unknown.probably i need a installer for the motherboard but my friend told me that he dosent have one. what will i do can anybody help me? is there any way i can update driver?is there anyway that i can download a boards installer or a driver support or something? and how will i know the motherboards model or the name of motherboard? thanks.. ![]() |

Hi,
Can you give use the exact specs of the PC (make, model etc.)? If this is a custom built PC we will need the model number off the Motherboard. This is usually located by the CPU or between the PCI Slots Be sure the Onboard Lan is set to enabled in the BIOS. If you have a PCI Lan card, please remove it or disable the Onboard Lan in the Bios. You should be using only one Lan device. Please list the errors you are getting in the device manager. XP does support some drivers, but not all
