standard vga driver for compac presario2500 laptop

i have a problem with vga driver , ati radeon driver, when i install driver for ati radreon then an error occurs that says "try to establish your display adapters with standard vga driver and then try to update with this driver"

plz help mee found the standard vga driver for the same, or tell me the link to find the same,,

plz remember i have gone through the compac website from where i have got that ati radeon graphic driver for my compac presario2515 laptop...

Welcome to TSF.

Go to Control Panel >> Add or remove programs >> uninstall the video driver.

Restart Windows in VGA mode (tap F8 during start > choose VGA mode).
Disconnect from internet and disable anti-virus.
Install the ATI driver.
