Ethernet Controller drivers

I have a Dell computer and recently got a virus. I wiped my pc and installed Windows XP Pro. and it's legit. I am unable to get online, I believe the issue is with my ethernet drivers (specifically the ethernet controller drivers.) I attempted to update them and installed the disc as it stated to...but it can't get online to update. How do I figure out what drivers specifically I need? And is it possible for me to visit a website on my laptop that CAN get online via my router - download the drivers to a disc/removable memory and then install on my pc? Thanks for your help in advance!

Re: Ethernet Controller drivers

If you know the model number of your Dell, or if it has the serial sticker on it you should be able to find the driver you need here:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx

And yes, if you can get online with the laptop, you can save the drivers to disk and transfer them.

Re: Ethernet Controller drivers

Go here: http://support.dell.com/

If you enter your Service Tag Number, it should narrow the choices . . You can also Look in Device Manager under Network Adaptors . . it should tell you which adaptor you have . . download the driver for it andsavle to flash or cd to install on the crippled pc
