activex control

Hi everyone
When I install the activex control from driver agent my computer restarts I sent the error message to microsoft and they report a stop error caused by a corrupt driver.My computer is a dell dimension 2400 microsoft suggested scanning with the dell driver reset tool but it found no problems.
I would like some advice please. winxp sp2

Can I know are you trying to install any driver? And when did you get the ActiveX error message?

thank you for replying I fixed the problem by doing a repair install of windows. What the trouble was I tried to install an unsigned audio driver should have known better.
