I cannot reload correct configuration information from EEPROM for PCI9052
I use PCI9052 from PXL, my EEPROM is 93c46.
Using WinDriver, I can access PCI configuration registers, local configuration registers, I can also read and write EEPROM through PCI9052 successfully. When I install my card without 93c46, I get correct Vendor ID (0x10b5H) and Device ID (0x9052H), it uses the defualt setting in PCI9052 registers, it is correct. But if I connect 93c46 (programmed), I get wrong Vendor ID: 0x0h ( I wrote 0x10b5h in EEPROM for Vendor ID), and correct Device ID: 0x9052H (It is 0x9052H in EEPROM). I did further check, it looks that PCI9052 just load the first 16 bits from EEPROM successfully, and set all other bytes to 0 in the local configuration registers. I tested again and again, it can alway load the first 16 bits (Device ID) successfully. It really puzzled me! Did anybody encounter similar probelms? I appreciate your help. Re: I cannot reload correct configuration infomation from EEPROM for PCI9052
I found the problem. By misunderstanding, I used 93c46. It is explecitly indicated in the datasheet of PCI9052, that it cannot be used with 9052, becuase it doesn't support sequential read.
