Ethernet Driver

I just bought a new HD and XP home because i was unhappy with Vista on my brand new computer. i bough the the new HD cuz it was loud so I bought a quieter one.

my issue is when Xp was all done and installed there were a few drivers I was without. the main one being my ability to go on the internet...Ethernet Controller Driver.

I dont know where or how to find this or even how to fix it. so im on my old HD with Vista needing ethernet drivers.

Do i need to contact my ISP?
or is there a place to fix this?

any information will be greatly appreciated.
thanks
josh

I failed to mention that i have gone to the downloads for model there and i DL'd the driver for it and when I try to update the drive from file for the device it wont recognize the files so I cant choose them...Im not very good at all of this sorry

Re: Ethernet Driver

The driver file I see here is an .exe . . when you download it, save it to a folder on your hard drive then double click on it and it should install.

Re: Ethernet Driver

Ok download from Softpedia did not work, said "Intallation failed!" every time.

The DL from the Emachines site for my model DID install successfully but there isn't any network or internet at all, like the install didn't do anything.

I rebooted after the install like it said to do... as well as un-installed and re-installed and still nothing.

Re: Ethernet Driver

The Ethernet Driver is a part of the nForce Chipset. Thus you need to get the latest nForce drivers for your chipset (MCP61)! Try this page at Nvidia:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_....26_11.09.html

Should fix your problem. But, don't take any bets on this. However other people on other forums have used this successfully!

Re: Ethernet Driver

Ok i installed the nForce drivers and again it doesn't look like it did anything, no net, no nothing =(

Simpswr, here is a Screenshot of the flagged components for yah

[EDIT]
Sorry bout the pic size, forgot about ALT + Prt Scrn, get it next time

Seems like every drive for this model of controller is meant for vista, did i make a bad choice by buying a new HD and putting xp on it?

Re: Ethernet Driver

Found this one, for your Network card:

http://www.marvell.com/drivers/uploa...v10.51.4.3.zip

One User who has the same motherboard said it worked for him!

The nForce drivers are the ones listed for the device. Have you installed a 3rd party PCI-E graphics card?

Re: Ethernet Driver

Alright brow96 the download you provided worked like a charm, thank you i wish i could pay you guys!

[EDIT]
Gosh i edit alot! anyways, brow96, no their isn't any third party graphics card, just an explansion slot for one, (PCI-Expansion) the only thing third party now is this new HD and XP, i have my other hard drive vista plugged in just not running. otherwise Nothing else is installed, it is a brand new comp =).

ok now, for the vga driver, im not sure if this has anything to do with it but everything runs fast and good but when i move my windows around or scroll web pages its really skippy, i mean really skippy...otherwise everything loads up fast, just the scroll skipping and windows skipping, anything on the VGA driver?

Re: Ethernet Driver

Ok, ive downloaded 3 different RealTek drivers associated with Xp. cuz the ones from my manufacturers website only provides the one for vista, so I googled the realtek stuff and non of the downloads worked. so I went to device manager and saw that a audio device was flagged:

I googled that and Downloaded the driver again, associated with xp and nothing so for one last time can anyone help me with this driver? this is the last thing I need!! haha
Thanks
