Don't know how to install drivers. I'm asked to log on as an administrator.
I installed a new hardrive and brand new Windows XP onto a second hand HP Pavillion a1022n. The dvdrom allowed me to install Windows XP, but I have no sounds and no multimedia-both cd/dvdrom drives not working. please help-thank you

Here is a link to the download page at HP for your Pavilion A1022N: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...460074&lang=en Install the drivers you need. Remember you have to have an Administrator Level account, i.e NOT a Guest Account in order to be able to install drivers or applications. HTH Bill |

doesn't explain this either. When I installed the new Windows XP on a brand new hard-drive it asked me for serial number for the software and I don't recall it ever asking me to create an Administrator account. How do I go about doing this?

So, unless you've gone to the trouble of re-configuring your account to be a "Guest Account"? You DO have the ability to install programs and drivers. HTH Bill |

Re: Need Help!
Hi m_smiley!!
You said that you cannot install the driver without logging into admin mode? then, try to login on admin mode and install all the driver for the computer. Here is the link for your computer driver page: HP Pavilion a1022n Desktop PC If you can't find any specific driver for the computer, you can post the specifications of the computer, by running the Everest (the download link is under my signature there)
