EEK! I have a problem....

Sor very Sorry for just coming on to ask for help Im Christie anyhow and I am in a pickle!

Next to Ethernet Controller there is a yellow question mark, i assume that is because driver/s are missing (actually the tech support guy told me that lol) NOW the question is where do I download these driver/s and how do i find out what one/s it is i need?

I have a AMD Athlon Processor and I'm running XP Pro.... Sorry but thats all I know.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: I have a problem....

You need driver of your LAN card. If the LAN card is onboard, than driver must be in motherboard CD. If you have purchased seperate LAN card, than you must have got a driver CD.

To install driver:
start-->> right click my compter -->> properties-->> hardwares-->> device manager.
Find the yellow ? mark on in network adapter-->> right click and select update driver.

This way you can install driver for your LAN card. If you dont have driver CD, than you may find driver online.

Re: I have a problem....

I dont have the driver CD and nothing can be found.

The PC was completely wiped clean and XP re-installed by my bro in law. I got it as is with just the XP disc. ARGH so frustrating lol!

Re: I have a problem....

Hi Christie,
Is this a Dell, Gateway, HP, Sony etc.?
Most PC will have thier name on it and on the back side there maybe a service tag of some sort that list the info. we need.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Bill

Re: I have a problem....

Hi,
Try these links:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...wareitem=35503
for an HP model
http://www.soft32.com/download_184064.html
Try the second one first unless you have an HP model (thats the first one)
If niether of these work, please post the Everest report.
Hope this helps.
thanks,
Bill
