Touchpad problem and no sound

I recently did a new install of win xp home with sp-2 on my hp pavillion zv5120 notebook. I downloaded all the necessary drivers, I think. I am having troule with two things. I have no sound, when I try to increase the volume with the volume control sliding bar it just slides back down to no volume on it's own. Next problem is with the touch pad. My pointer frequently hangs up. Thanks for any help with this problem

Re: Touchpad problem and no sound

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
Can you go to the device manager and see if there are any yellow or red exclamation points.
Did you download the chipset driver? I will need the model # of the laptop to find the correct chipset driver (Intel)
Here is a link for the drivers:

Thanks,
Bill

Hi,
Is there a service tag or another number on this machine. I am trying to see what is loaded (Hardware wise). If you can please run Everest under my signiture and post the results. Also is this machine fully updated (Microsoft updates)?
Thanks,

Re: Touchpad problem and no sound

Hi,
Driveragent has detected missing our bad drivers. I am unfimilar with driver agent and therfore unsure of the results, Sorry. You could download thier drivers (and pay for membership), but I can not guarantee the results. The Everest report will assist me better (more familiar). You do have driver issues though.
Thanks,
Bill
