NIC will not initialize
I've been at this for many hours. I can't figure it out, and can't find help. I'm hoping....
I copied a working HD from a new computer very similar to my working one, to a partition of a copy of my existing HD. This partition installed perfectly, everything was found, except the NIC. I put the original drive back in.. everything is fine. On boot, WinXP Pro will see the NIC, try to install with the correct name and type (IBM Pro 100 VE), but fails. There is no NIC to be seen anywhere. There is a yellow ! in the Device Manager. I have the latest drivers, and have used IBM's install as well as Windows. They both install 'something', but on reboot, there is still nothing. Only the best diagnostics will even see it in the hardware. There will be something in your Christmas envelope if you can help with this! Thanks. |
