Lost Motherboard and Chipset CD
recently had to reinstall XP, when prompted to get windows updates to complete installation I discover since reinstalling XP my PC no longer recognizes any netwowork connection. through troubleshooting the problem I find out that my ethernet, video, multimedia, multimedia aduio controllers all need drivers. I have program CDs for all but the ethernet controller, the problem is I am unable to install any of them. I suspect it has to do with the XP reinstall. I am posting this thread from my laptop so that may factor in any possible resolution since the problem is in my PC which I am unable to gain access to the internet at this time on. Any ideas please?

Re: Lost Motherboard and Chipset CD
Hi,
Welcome to the forum. We will need the complete specs of the PC in question to help you. If this is a manufactured PC such as a Dell, HP, Gateway etc, most manufactures will have the drivers posted on thier website. In your case, not being able to access the internet on the PC in question (no ethernet) I would download the drivers and burn to CD or use a Flash drive. Then install the drivers to the PC in question. If you are not sure of the specs of the PC please run Everest under my sign and Post the results. Thanks, Bill |

If this is an MSI board once you find the ethernet driver you could use msi live update for the rest of your drivers. If you run into trouble please post an Everest report as this will help me narrow down the proper drivers. Thanks, Bill |
