[SOLVED] Help! Graphics screw up once a month?

Hello all, I would like to thank everyone in advanced for their help that they may provide.

Some background information: I have bought a custom made pc, sometime in early august. The computer's specs = Core 2 Duo E6750, 2 GB Ram, Asus P5K ( motherboard ) and my graphics card is Nvidia GeForce 8500GT.

Problem: In almost every single month, for some unknown reason, my graphics card messes up. It always messes up after I turn my computer off an on again. One minute it would be working fine, but after you shut the computer down and turn it on again, it will mess up. Now by 'mess up' I mean the computer won't let me change out of 600x800 screen resolution, 8bit colour quality and 60 hertz screen refresh rates. I have tried the window's tips on updating the drivers - but it doesn't seem to work. Either that or I'm not doing it right.

This is very annoying because I have to uninstall the driver every single time it happens, and then re install it right after. I was just wondering what might be causing this problem. Below are some screenshots I took during the "graphics failure".

Please help me solve this problem.

Thanks,
Jason

Re: Help! Graphics screw up once a month?

Yes, the only thing i can think of otherwise that would cause that would be a bad psu or bad memorey on the video card.
