[SOLVED] Driver issuse with my dim 4550

i was looking over the site and came a across a solved thread with issues of the ether net card drivers on the dell dimension 4550 i dled the right dirvers and all that but it says i need swmp or something like that to install the third part of the dirver its like a simple protocol thing ill check when i get home at thanks giving now can any one give me a helping hand

Hi,

I assume you followed these steps:

Go here. Download and install the Chipset - Intel driver.
Restart the computer.
Then go here - download and install the Ethernet driver.
Restart again.

Post back with the exact error message you receive when trying to install.

I have moved this thread to Driver support.

i did dl the chip set and the ehternet driver but when i go to install the driver it says i need snmp to down load all of it

"The MicroSoft SNMP Service is not installed. Please install it and run the set up again"

Do you have Service pack 2 for Windows XP installed? If not - do so.
Download and install critical updates for XP.
Then install the driver.

ok i got the snmp going i guess but when i go to set up the driver i get i was before im up loading a pic give me a min im on dial up now may take a min

ok i got the snmp thing all going but i get to the a part in the dl where it says to check what you want to install i check it all but after i do theat it jsut sits there and doesnt do ne thing and if u hit the x it says if you quit the down load you will have to run the set up again

i was trying to load a s/s but it takes a very long time to load onto imageshack to host it

thats how it looks and i cant click on any thing to go further theres a check box next to all 4 selections but i cant go ne further than that

SNMP is installed, configured and running, correct?

What is it you're trying to download?

yes snmp works i followed that guide u posted and im downloading the driver for my nic card from intel web site like u suggested on the other post with someone else have the same problem

Did you install the chipset driver first - reboot - install the Ethernet driver - reboot again?

i got it solved all i had to do was hit enter and it brought a screen up to install all went well ty for the help.
