cd drive split into 2?!?
hiya everyone, got a Aspire 5633WLMI that now in My Computer is recognising 2 dvd/cd-rom drives, one labelled E:DVD-RAM Drive and the other F:DVD Drive. plus, when i click on the properties 3 drives are there
1) Hitachi HTS541212H9AT00 disk drive 2)HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T10N dvd/cd-rom drives 3) ROXIO DVD-ROM EMULATOR SCSI CdRom device i did have roxio easy media creator 9 but have uninstalled it. when i try and remove the roxio drive, though i dont know if that'll help, but nothing happens, it wont be deleted. before uninstalling roxio and it was also a bit hit or miss if it'd burn a film using disc copier, thought it was the disc but now..... Please Help!! |

i think this is a virtual drive loaded by roxio
ROXIO DVD-ROM EMULATOR SCSI CdRom device see if you can uninstall it from the control panel this is your hard drive Hitachi HTS541212H9AT00 disk drive

tried deleting the drive through control panel, computer says its done it, re-start laptop and when it starts up again, without me doing a thing it tells me its found new hardware that i need to reboot for it to work, i do so and roxio is back!!

hi thelomographer i had a same problem i was using window vista ultimate now problem is solved .the main cause of this problem is trojan or virus . follow these steps in order to solve u problem .
step 1 run anti virus and trojan remover tool(in my case i used kaspersky internet security ) and remove trojan or virus step 2 unistall every burning software step 3 download malicious software removal tool form microsoft using updater step 4 restart ur computer step5 malicious software removal tool shoud start automatically if not run it manauly it will automatically detect malicious software and will remove it this should sove ur problem |
