Starlogic tft/lcd flat panel monitor

I was given a Starlogic 20.1" flat panel TFT/LCD monitor and when I connect it to my system, it comes on for maybe 5 or 6 seconds and goes blank. It will do this every time I turn it off and back on again. Is there some sort of driver or updated driver that I need to make this work or is the monitor just not working properly? I have a Gateway computer if that makes any difference. Thanks!
