Sound Driver Vanished! Help Needed!

Recently, after losing my own computer, I'd been using a computer that my brother was going to sell to a friend. My brother said it was fine as long as I didn't do anything malicious with it and deleted every program I downloaded onto by the time he needed it back. I did so and turns out that the guy that was supposed to be buying it from my brother didn't need it and I bought it from him...

Unfortunately, when I was deleting the programs I had put on it, I must've slipped up on accident and deleted a VERY important program or something because now... I can't get sound!

When I try to play a music file it tells me that there isn't a sound device installed on my computer.

I don't remember deleting anything so important (it's quite important in my opinion; I'm a music lover)! Is there anyway to fix this without having to go buy something? If so, I'd love the help. If not, thanks for your time!

Sorry for my ignorance, but... How do I find out which drivers to install? Do I install any drivers? Where do I get them?

once you post what you have we can direct you to the drivers and how to install them

Hopefully, I've chosen the correct screen to show you. The first item on that list shows my Audio Device.

I tried to install it, but it crashed on a file. When it rebooted, this was the message from windows:

Problem caused by Windows (R) WDM driver for Realtek AC'97 (ALCXWDM.SYS)

This problem was caused by Windows (R) WDM driver for Realtek AC'97 (ALCXWDM.SYS). This program was created by Realtek Semiconductor Corp.. Realtek Semiconductor Corp. does not currently have a solution for the problem that you reported.

So, that sounds unfortunate, heh.

Yeah, it did the same thing. I was going to take the sound device out of my old computer, but realized that it was attached to the motherboard, heh. Is it possible to buy another part that can be used as a sound device?
