Canon Pixma ip4000
I just loaded the printer cd on a newer computer, and while the Word applications print, when I seek to print from the internet, the computer does not find the printer. Attempts to print indicate that the printer is offline, or I get an error message. I tried to re-install and had no better success. Same for restarting the computer. Any suggestions?

Re: Canon Pixma ip4000
Hi astern1111, Welcome to TSF!
![]() When you 'installed' the drivers on the 'new' computer, did you include one of the add-ons from the Canon™ CD called "Print to Web" or "Web Print"? Furthermore, if the printer is on a Home Network, did you 'share' the printer? Try these suggestions and post back with the results. Kind Regards,

Re: Canon Pixma ip4000
Dave: I appreciate the speedy response. I custom installed the web print software, and received the same message: "The printer is offline. Check that the printer cable is connected and the printer power is on." Once again, Word worked fine. While we have a home wireless network, we do not share printers.

Re: Canon Pixma ip4000
Ok astern,
Perhaps if you were to disconnect the printer physically from the computer; then, uninstall all the associated Canon™ software from the Add/Remove function in the Control Panel. Reboot the computer. Reinstall the printer is if it were the first time you are installing it, but naturally 'skip' the section relating to the installation of the Ink Cartridges. This has worked for me in the past (albeit my Canon™ is a PIXMA iP4200). Give it a go and post back with the results. Regards,
