Ritmo pci card

Hi, I do hope someone can help me. I have a 5.1 sound system and only had on board audio. I purchased the ritmo pci card and installed it then the problems began! I have no sound....I tried the accompying disc to install driver the message says I need a chip, which i do not have and don't know where to go to get one. I would appreciate anyones help....

Hi, welcome to TSF

Before you can install your new sound card you have to uninstall the onboard sound software in Control Panel > Add or remove programs.
You also have to disable the onboard sound in BIOS.

Thanx Nicholas for replying so soon, I discovered the bit about disabling the onboard audio and I removed the new card, disabled the audio, installed the new card and I am being told by the driver disc that I need a "chip" of somekind and that my computer is not set up with this "chip" so I can't install the driver from the disc.
