[SOLVED] Audio Driver Headache
Hi all,
I have just spent the best part of 2 days formatting and reinstalling my friends pc from xp pro sp1 to sp2-mainly because he disabled his administrator account-the updates have taken so long its unbelievable-and i have done it as a favour! Everything is now installed except the audio driver which i am having a nightmare trying to install-it keeps coming up with "device object not present-restart the system and run set up again" I have done everything in my power to install this but have now admitted defeat-i am so hacked off with it-the mobo i am using is a FUJITSU SIEMANS D1451. I tried to install the driver off the sigmatel site but it would not load-it kept coming up with the above message-i am totally up to date with windows updates so am now stuck in what i should do Any help would be very much appreciated |

Re: Audio Driver Headache
It could be that you have to install " Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver" first - then the Intel driver.

Re: Audio Driver Headache
I uninstalled the chipset utility and installed another version-and i have now installed the stac9750 driver with no problem-though i cant still get sound as it says i have no sound device
in device manager there are no exclamation marks and when i update there are no new ones-the sigmatel driver is listed ok. But in the sounds section it says no audio device-isnt that what i just installed?? Do i have to install realtek as well as the sigmatel driver? Thanks Edit:tried to install the realtek driver but my pc crashed all 3 times during install-this is driving me nuts!! Last edited by DeathHawk; 08-26-2007 at 04:50 PM. |

Under the reply box - click Go Advanced. In the new window click the paper clip icon. Another window will open - browse to the image you want to upload and choose it, then click Upload. When the upload has finished - close the window. In the reply window - click the paper clip icon again and choose the image.
Did you try Everest? |

Re: Audio Driver Headache
Eneles,
Sorry for the late reply-i got so hacked off with spending 3 days on his pc i decided to just format it again. The sound came up no problem and my mate is now seriously impressed with my computer skills!!! I got taken out for a free meal with all the beer i wanted so i ended up rather happy with the outcome-though i must admit that my head thought different the next day Thanks for your help |
