Insert Blank CD in Drive E

OK PC Peeps,

You have probably seen this asked before, but I can't find it here.

My cd-dvd player plays fine but when I go to burn some audio, it keeps saying insert blank disc into drive E. It always worked fine before and I don't know how this all started, so what do I need to do to get the drive to recognize that a blank disc is inserted. I tried several different discs and it always comes up with insert blank disc.

I have also followed numerous instructions from HP, Microsoft, and other people's solutions over the past week to no avail. And yes, my drive is clean and the discs are recognized in other recording devices.

Scratching my head w what to do next. Any help out there?
Thanks!!

Re: Insert Blank CD in Drive E

Do you have to reformat the disc that you are trying to burn things onto? Does the disc that you are trying to burn things onto have stuff on it or things that thought were deleted on it?

I've seen this before. When there is a cd in the bay, right click the drive, choose format. You might have to click retry 2 or 3 times. After the format (usually around 20-45 minutes) see if you can burn to it. If so, you probably will be better off getting a burning program like nero.
