[SOLVED] Sound, USB, and DVD Drive problems

1) I have a 5.1 speaker system which was working fine for about 2 years, but suddenly, the speaker attached to the monitor stopped working. The speaker is also the volume controller, but that part works just fine. I went to Dell Support, which told me to uninstall the driver, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS, and install Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic (D) instead. I did that, but when I looked into the Device Manager under Sound Controllers, neither of them was there. I can still hear sound, although I can't use the software that came with the computer to play with the sound.

2) After that deal, I figured I could just use the Sound Blaster CD that came along with the computer, but when I put it in the CD wasn't recognized. Looked under Device Manager and theres a big yellow ! next to both drivers. Didn't wanna try to fix it without your say.
Edit: Tried to uninstall and reinstall, didn't do anything.

3) Unrelated: I have two USB plugs in my computer monitor, but they stopped working about a year ago, know how to fix this?

Thanks a lot.

Re: Sound, USB, and DVD Drive problems

I have the CD that cane with my computer, I figure I can just use that to revert to the original stuff that came.
My big problem is that my optical drives aren't recognized, there is a yellow ! next to the devices in Device Manager. I tried reinstalling them, but the problem persists.

Re: Sound, USB, and DVD Drive problems

I called Dell Support, but my warranty was out. However, the guy was cool enough to tell me that I needed to connect the USB port on the back of the monitor to the computer to bring the two on the side of the monitor to life.

All problems solved.
