Mistake [SOLVED] Need drivers for a new PC for windows XP

Well I recently bought a new PC that had vista installed on it, so I uninstalled that and installed XP. That is where problems began, now I have no sound and have looked for drivers but can not figure out some of my system to even find out what drivers I need. So can you guys please help me? Oh! I checked the other threads first, installed 8.26_11.09_nforce_winxp_english(which solved some issues) and everesthome 2.20. But I'm not as much a 'techie' as I thought and don't know what to do from here.

Re: Need drivers for a new PC for windows XP

ok thanks. It is a hp pavilion m8100e and service pack 2...I think thats what you are asking for. I formatted the hard drive so Vista is gone. Pretty sure that it is more like and upgrade than downgrade though. Aha home edition is probably what you were looking for.

Re: Need drivers for a new PC for windows XP

yeah I did use that to find some information...but I bought it a month ago and have some stuff that was a *special* offer. so that won't help much and the drivers on their site is for vista alone and not for XP.

Re: Need drivers for a new PC for windows XP

Then you may need to get a drivers disk if your still under guarrantee they should fix all this for free phone them up or contact them in some way and they should fix it all for free. (Hopefully) Try and find a contact, Alternativly you can try searching the parts.

Example- Say I have a Sony DVD-RW Disc Drive FInd the full name and version of this (SHould be on purchase information) and put it in a serach engine followed by drivers so for example search * Sony DVD-RW 28X Version1.0 Driver * and then it should show up!

That CD drive dosen't exist it's jsut an example lol

Re: Need drivers for a new PC for windows XP

ok this is fixed now... thanks to anyone except for Kerwin the IT guy from HP. So if you have this problem apparently get a hold of the company who made the PC. end case.
