[SOLVED] No Devices after XP Install
Hello everyone,
I ran into a problem after installing Windows XP Pro. Basically, we purchased a pre-built computer, P4 2.6Ghz, 512RAM, 40GB HDD, some video card. Windows wasn't installed on it so I had to install it. I went to format the hard drive, installed Windows XP, and now I'm in the Windows Desktop. But the problem is, there seems to be no drivers installed for anything. The display is on Default Monitor (I can't change it), and I don't even see the network adapter. I really don't know what the video card is (or don't know how to find out what it is), and I can't get the network adapter to setup. Can you please give some help. Thanks very much. |

Re: No Devices after XP Install
Please download and install Everest Click "Report", "Custom Selection", only choose "Computer" and "Motherboard" save it as a plain text file and add the file to your next post as an attachment.
To add an attachment click "Go Advanced" then click the paperclip and browse to the file. With this info we'll be able to point you in the right direction for the drivers you need. BTW, this should've been posted in the Driver Support forum.

Re: No Devices after XP Install
Ah, sorry I've posted on the wrong section.
I just got the Everest program, it's pretty useful. I acually found some hardwares on the computer I didn't know about. I'm going to try and see if I can fix the problem. Thanks for the help. |

Re: No Devices after XP Install
No problem, I had the thread moved. Please post back here if you are unable to solve the problem on your own. We are always happy to help.
BTW, if you click on the blue link next to the hardware in Everest it'll give you the option to get the latest drivers. Let us know how it goes for you. |

Re: No Devices after XP Install
when you format and reinstall as soon as you have the operating system loaded you need to run the m/b setup disk
